HUDSON, NH - Nashua Fire, Hudson Fire, AMR, Hudson Police, and Nashua Police responded to a report of a boating accident on the Merrimack River Sunday at about 5:15 pm. The initial report indicated there were possibly five victims, and that the accident involved one or two Jet Skis and a boat.
Responders initially had a difficult time locating it until a person waved down a retired Hudson Firefighter on Sagamore Park Road. Responders located a man who had been brought to the shore on the Hudson side of the river. The man was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Several people called 911, some reporting a second injured person had been transported by private vehicle to a hospital, but that has not been confirmed.
Initial information gathered at the scene was that a Jet Ski came in contact with the back of a boat, and the propeller struck the man.
NHSP Marine Patrol was summoned to the scene, and they are the lead investigation unit handling the case.
As of 8:25 p.m., the body remained at the scene awaiting the Medical Examiner's Office to arrive.
