HOLLIS, N.H. — Hollis Police and Fire rescue crews responded to a severe single-vehicle crash early Wednesday morning on Depot Road after a car struck a tree, leaving two adult occupants pinned inside the wreckage.
Emergency personnel arrived at the scene to find a heavily damaged Toyota bearing New Hampshire license plates. Both occupants were trapped inside, prompting firefighters to immediately deploy hydraulic rescue tools to free them.
The driver was extricated first and transported to Southern New Hampshire Medical Center with serious injuries. Extricating the passenger, who had been pushed into the rear seat due to the impact, required an extensive rescue effort. Firefighters worked for over an hour to cut the victim free.

Due to the severity of the passenger's injuries, first responders requested a medical evacuation helicopter from U-Mass Medical Center to a nearby landing zone. A Pepperell, Massachusetts ambulance crew transported the extricated passenger to the helipad for emergency airlift.
Hollis Police Chief Brendan LaFlamme confirmed that both individuals involved are adults, though their specific ages and identities have not yet been released. Chief LaFlamme noted that the passenger sustained what appeared to be life-threatening injuries.
Preliminary investigations suggest high speed was a contributing factor in the crash, according to Chief LaFlamme, based on physical evidence and initial measurements gathered at the site.
Depot Road remained closed for several hours Wednesday morning as accident reconstruction teams surveyed the scene, took photos, and cleared the debris.
The cause of the crash remains under active investigation by the Hollis Police Department, and no further details are currently available.
