“This building came about after many years of our teachers just making do with our historic buildings as their primary space to prepare and teach children and adults year-round,” Executive Director Lindsay Jones said. “We had a yurt previously that really was past its useful life.
The discussion covered the company’s products, market conditions and hiring challenges. Like many New Hampshire businesses, Marmon Utility has struggled to recruit workers despite offering higher wages.
The city clerk’s office is responsible for vital records and elections. In the weeks leading up to the Sept. 8 New Hampshire state primary, City Clerk Dan Healey and his staff have been preparing ballots, equipment and voter lists for the city’s nine wards.
“The traffic was really good,” Brassard said. “People came to the park to see some art. I think it’s been great. They come into my booth and things are a little different, a little unique and different than what they’ve seen, and the response has been nice.”
Working along three blocks of the trail between Elm and Ash streets, the artists transformed walls, building facades and roughly a dozen large panels, giving the Tree Streets neighborhood a new outdoor gallery.
"This is just very simple, that we should be unmasking the dark money. That's billions of dollars every election cycle," Pappas said. "We should know who's trying to influence our votes and trying to put their thumb on the scale."
“Speed is key. We have to break up these networks. We need to do it fast. And that was really difficult before because it just took so long to get the results back. This is going to make a big difference in New Hampshire.”
The 15-0 vote at the Aug. 25 special meeting allows Public Health and Community Services Director Bobbie Bagley to complete the application to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. The city must submit a detailed plan for using the funds by Oct. 15.
“These things attract so many people to a community,” Thomas said. “When people start seeing the beauty of a community, then they start taking care of it more.
“I think we will see presidential candidates continue to come to New Hampshire on both sides of the aisle, both Republicans and Democrats. We're seeing that already. I've heard from three presidential candidates in the last month who are coming to New Hampshire.”
“We’ve got some of the highest energy costs in the country, and the solutions are within reach,” Goodlander said. “Nature itself is powering this city and our state, and there’s nothing more exciting than to see how you put our natural assets to use.”
The permanent, in-house PET imaging system is one of three of its type in New Hampshire. Since it came online, Southern New Hampshire Medical Center has seen a 16.5% increase in exam volume, according to the hospital.

Nashua operates 21 public schools and expects about 9,600 students to enroll this year. More than 1,100 employees — including teachers, paraeducators, administrators, food service workers, custodians and operations crew members — work in the district.
“The cost of going back to school is especially hard this year,” said one mother picking up backpacks with her three children. “Sneakers can be 100 bucks, so getting these school supplies really helps, and it’s nice for the kids to have something new and all their own.”
For the dozen young musicians in the NCMS Teen Rock Band, it was their first performance before a live audience at a professional venue. About 220 fans and supporters filled the hall at the Western Avenue Studios complex for the event, now in its second year.
