NASHUA, N.H. — A multi-vehicle crash on the F.E. Everett Turnpike left one person with life-threatening injuries and sent three others to the hospital late Wednesday afternoon.

New Hampshire State Police, Nashua Fire Rescue, and AMR Southern New Hampshire dispatched to the northbound lanes just after 4:30 p.m. following reports of a multi-vehicle crash.

Critical Injuries Reported

Emergency responders were alerted enroute that a bystander or occupant was performing CPR on one of the victims. Upon arrival, Nashua Fire Rescue confirmed a three-vehicle collision and noted that life-saving measures were actively being administered to a man in his fifties.

The man was rushed to Southern New Hampshire Medical Center under a "trauma alert" status, with medics reporting he had sustained multi-system trauma. CPR remained in progress during transport.

Three other individuals involved in the crash were taken to St. Joseph’s Hospital. Officials classified their injuries as "Status 3," the least severe medical designation.

The collision caused severe rush-hour delays, forcing authorities to briefly shut down all northbound lanes. Crews eventually reopened the right travel lane, the breakdown lane, and the Exit 7 northbound off-ramp to alleviate traffic gridlock.

At the scene, three vehicles were visible in the left lane. The rearmost vehicle sustained heavy front-end damage. While New Hampshire State Police have not yet released an official statement, a source close to the investigation indicated that the first two vehicles were stopped in traffic when the third vehicle struck them from behind.

NH DOT signs on the highway indicate there have been 47 fatalities on NH roads so far in 2026. State Police remain on the scene as the investigation into the exact cause of the crash continues.
