NASHUA, N.H. — Nashua firefighters successfully extinguished a intense two-alarm blaze that broke out at a Lynde Street residence early Saturday morning, facing difficult physical obstacles and severe interior clutter.
Nashua Fire Dispatch received the initial report of a garage fire just before 4:00 a.m. Upon arrival, first responders encountered heavy flames rapidly advancing from a garage area underneath the home and climbing up the front exterior wall.
Firefighting operations encountered immediate hurdles outside the structure. Dense tree growth on both sides of the property, combined with utility lines in the front, severely restricted access for emergency apparatus. Once inside, crews faced additional challenges due to heavy hoarding conditions throughout the residence, which obstructed movement and visibility.

To combat the growing flames, firefighters positioned a ladder truck to access the roof, cutting strategically placed ventilation holes to relieve heat and trap the fire's spread.
- Evacuation & Control: NFR Deputy Kevin Kerrigan confirmed that all occupants managed to escape the dwelling safely. Deputy Kerrigan reported the heavy body of fire was knocked down by 4:30 a.m.
- Overhaul: Crews utilized power saws to open exterior wall access holes, spending an extended period extinguishing hidden hot spots. The incident was officially brought under control at 5:45 a.m.
- Support: American Medical Response (AMR) personnel provided standby support on scene, though no injuries to residents or firefighters were reported. Multiple mutual aid departments covered Nashua fire stations during the event.
Online municipal records indicate the same address previously suffered a structural fire in 2009, with subsequent building permits filed for structural modifications.
Investigators from the Nashua Fire Marshal's Office remain on the scene to determine the exact origin and cause of the blaze.
