Multiple fires in the City Monday

Ladder 3 was the first truck on scene, in the rear, with light smoke showing from the roof vents and soffits of a 3-story garden style apartment building. Command was established by Ladder 3. Engine 3 stretched a 1 ¾” hose line to the front door of the building awaiting the location of the fire.

General Incident Description:

At approximately 3:56 pm on August 17, 2026, the Nashua Fire Rescue dispatch center received a call reporting an appliance fire at the listed address. The caller reported a clothes dryer with black smoke coming from the unit.

Engine 6 was the first engine on scene, with no obvious conditions showing from a middle-unit three-story townhouse. The Engine officer established command. Engine 6 crew stretched a 1 ¾” hose line to the front door. and upon entering, the company was met with a heavy smoke condition. As the crew got to the second-floor with the hose line, visibility was zero and a significant heat condition was present. Utilizing the Thermal Imaging Camera, the officer of Engine 6 was able to locate the fire and direct its extinguishment. Engine 2 arrived and immediately provided water supply to Engine 6. The crew also stretched a backup line to the front door in preparation for additional extinguishment needs. L2 positioned in front of the building and laddered the roof with the aerial device for the possibility of vertical ventilation. The crew also positioned ground ladders in the front and rear of the building. L2 conducted searches on the second and first floor.

The fire was quickly brought under control and salvage operations were conducted to protect as many contents as possible. One occupant was home at the time of the fire, and safely evacuated.

The fire is currently under investigation by the Nashua Fire Marshal’s office.

General Incident Description:

At approximately 5:47 pm on August 17, 2026, the Nashua Fire Rescue dispatch center received a call reporting smoke from the building at 11 Newcastle Drive.

Ladder 3 was the first truck on scene, in the rear, with light smoke showing from the roof vents and soffits of a 3-story garden style apartment building. Command was established by Ladder 3. Engine 3 stretched a 1 ¾” hose line to the front door of the building awaiting the location of the fire. E2 Provided water supply to Engine 3 from a nearby hydrant. L2 positioned in the front of the building as coordinated with command. E4 positioned itself to supply water to the rear of the building if necessary. E1 arrived as the RIT company.

All crews were working to locate the fire as access to apartments was a challenge. Ladder 3 located the fire apartment and directed the hose lines to the third floor. The fire was located in the ceiling of a third-floor apartment. The fire was knocked down and crews worked to ensure there was no further extension. There was a significant smoke condition and subsequent water damage to the fire apartment, as well as, the apartments below.

The fire was brought under control and companies again worked to protect the contents of the apartments effected by the water damage.

Several occupants were in the building at the time of the fire and all safely evacuated. Four apartments were damaged as a result of the fire and several occupants were forced to find another place to stay.

The fire is currently under investigation by the Nashua Fire Marshal’s office.
