United Way of Greater Nashua launches Summer Shoe Drive to support local neighbors through Greater Nashua Shoe Fund

NASHUA, N.H. - United Way of Greater Nashua is inviting the community to come together this summer to support local neighbors by participating in their first-ever shoe drive, taking place July 1 through August 31 across the Greater Nashua area.

The drive supports the Greater Nashua Shoe Fund, an ongoing United Way initiative that provides essential footwear to individuals and families in need. Every donated pair helps ensure local residents have the shoes they need to work, stay healthy, and move forward with confidence.

“Something as simple as a reliable pair of shoes can have a powerful impact on someone’s daily life,” said Mike Apfelberg, President of United Way of Greater Nashua. “It might be a pair of work shoes for a homeless youth starting their first job, or specialized footwear for a person with diabetes. Through the Greater Nashua Shoe Fund, we’re able to meet a basic but critical need for members of our community.”

The Greater Nashua Shoe Fund operates year-round, distributing footwear to children, adults, and seniors throughout the region.

United Way of Greater Nashua extends its thanks to McLaughlin Transportation Systems for generously sponsoring this year’s shoe drive.

By addressing a basic need, the shoe drive helps remove barriers to employment, education, and health—strengthening the overall well-being of the Greater Nashua community.

“This is a simple, meaningful way for people to give back,” Apfelberg added. “Every pair donated helps a neighbor take their next step forward.”

They have put a lot of thought and care into becoming The Beatles, as evidenced by their hair and clothing, replicating the styles worn by the original band from Liverpool, though the heat has forced them to omit their black suit jackets.  Their stage banter is delivered in an English accent.
