Governor Kelly Ayotte announced today that the U.S. Department of the Treasury has approved 25 U.S. Census tracts in New Hampshire as federally designated Opportunity Zone 2.0 (OZ 2.0) locations
Ayotte emphasized her record, bipartisan cooperation and New Hampshire’s low-tax business climate. Warmington focused on affordability and argued that the state needs more direct investment in housing, health care, childcare and public education.
“Transmission utilities have overcharged Granite Staters to boost their bottom lines, and they continue to delay the return of this money at a time when families are struggling,” said Governor Ayotte.
The Community College Promise Program will be included in the Governor’s recommended state budget for FY28-29. The proposal will require legislative approval and, if enacted, would take effect beginning with the Fall 2027 semester.
“I want to thank President Trump for approving this important relief for New Hampshire. Securing this funding was a result of the strong partnership between New Hampshire’s Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management, local officials, and our partners at FEMA,” said Governor Ayotte.
“Domestic violence homicides are preventable. Every life that is lost leaves families and communities asking what could have been done to prevent it,” said Alyssa Dandrea, Community Relations Specialist for the New Hampshire Coalition Against Domestic and Sexual Violence.
For the 2027 fiscal year, revenues have exceeded plan by $74.9 million or 12.5%. The State revenues are also $111.7 million higher than at the same point last year.
“Today, we are remembering and honoring those who have fallen and those who have passed away,” Donchess said. “Deputy Chief Glenn Telgin, who is being added to this memorial, heroically served the citizens of Nashua.”
The order waives New Hampshire tolls for Gold Star family members by allowing vehicles with New Hampshire Gold Star plates to identify themselves to toll attendants and be allowed to pass free of charge.

During a press conference at the Manchester Police Department, the Governor and other speakers outlined new protections in Senate Bill 482 and urged the public to be vigilant and educate themselves about common scams.
“While this is Suicide Prevention Month, I think we all every day can do our part to try to prevent suicides and to prevent people from struggling and to make sure that we're supporting those who need our help the most.’ said the Governor.
The campaign aims to help young people recognize the risks of counterfeit and unlabeled pills, which can often contain fentanyl. Feedback from youth revealed that while most young people have heard of fentanyl, many still struggle to identify substances that may contain it.
This settlement is an important step toward holding social media companies accountable for intentionally designing their platforms with manipulative features that foster excessive use and for deceiving the public about the harmful effects of those features on kids and teens.
Veto Day includes voting on overrides for 22 House bills and 9 bills rejected by the Governor. The override on HB 2026 passed 292 to 25: 317 out of 424 members showing the likely effect on attendance by advancing the session to today.
