On Saturday the town of Amherst held is 57th July Fourth parade in celebration of the 250th birthday of America. The parade was followed with activities, entailment and speakers on the Village Green in the classically New England celebration.
Despite high temperatures in the upper 90s a large crowd lined the streets of the parade route and filled the Village Green to enjoy the festivities. Kids with bikes festooned with patriotic decorations lead the main procession alongside classic cars, marching bands, civic groups and politicians.

Families packed Holman Stadium on Saturday as Nashua hosted its annual Independence Day celebration with an evening of music, carnival rides and fireworks. The festivities began in the afternoon with carnival rides for children and food trucks set up around the stadium.
