NASHUA, N.H. – The Nashua Board of Fire Commission and Chief Steve M. Buxton announce, with profound sadness, the passing of Retired Deputy Fire Chief Glenn Telgen following his courageous battle with occupational cancer.

Today, Nashua Fire Rescue, the Telgen family, members of the fire service from across New Hampshire and New England, city officials, retired members, and friends gathered to celebrate Deputy Chief Telgen's extraordinary life, remarkable career, and enduring legacy of service.

Deputy Chief Telgen dedicated 26 years to the New Hampshire fire service, including more than 24 years with Nashua Fire Rescue. He joined the department on November 4, 2002, and faithfully served the citizens of Nashua until his retirement on February 28, 2026.

"Glenn embodied everything we hope to see in the fire service," said Chief of Department Steve M. Buxton. "He led with strength, integrity, and humility. While we mourn his passing, we also celebrate a life that made an immeasurable difference to countless people. His legacy will continue to live on through the members he mentored, the friendships he built, and the example he set every day."

The Celebration of Life reflected the impact Deputy Chief Telgen had throughout the fire service. Hundreds of firefighters representing departments from across the region stood together in a Sea of Blue, honoring one of their own while offering support to the Telgen family, friends, and the Nashua Fire Rescue family. The outpouring of respect and unity served as a powerful reminder of the bonds shared throughout the fire service and the profound influence Deputy Chief Telgen had on those privileged to know and serve alongside him.
