MANCHESTER, N.H. — Two people suffered minor injuries Tuesday morning when an elderly driver crashed her vehicle directly into the front of a local laundromat, causing significant structural damage to the business entrance.
First responders from Manchester Fire, Police, and AMR were dispatched to Laundromaxx at 465 South Willow Street at approximately 11:45 a.m. following reports of a car plowing into the building. Upon arrival, crews discovered the front entry of the establishment severely compromised, with extensive damage concentrated on the exterior glass and metal support framing.
Paramedics evaluated multiple individuals inside the laundromat who sustained cuts and scrapes during the impact. None of the injured required hospitalization, and all refused medical transport at the scene.
Firefighters safely removed the vehicle from the storefront and secured the building's structural integrity. Crews spent part of the afternoon assisting the business owner by clearing away shattered glass and hanging metal supports to prevent further hazards.
The exact cause of the crash remains under investigation by the Manchester Police Department. No charges have been announced.
The incident comes just one day after a separate, unrelated vehicle collision in Concord, where a car crashed into a Target store on Monday afternoon, sending three people to the hospital, including a pregnant woman.
