So, you checked your voter registration status and saw you are no longer on the voter roll. Or perhaps you got a letter from your town clerk saying there is an issue with your registration? Now what?
You will need to re-register, and how much proof you need will depend on why you were removed from the rolls.
If you moved to a new town or ward, or moved back to NH, bring your government-issued photo ID (student IDs are no longer acceptable) and proof of your domicile (where you live). Your new clerk can usually confirm your prior NH registration and won't require you to reprove citizenship and age.
If you were removed for inactivity, not voting in five years, you'll need to reprove the full set: age, citizenship, identity, and domicile (ACID), even if you're staying in the same town. If you don't have citizenship documents available, you can sign a Qualified Voter Affidavit (QVA), swearing under penalty of law that you are a U.S. citizen. Please note, whatever documents you need to bring, both the original and a photo on your phone of the original document are acceptable.
Check your voter registration today at app.sos.nh.gov/voternformation and remind your friends and family to do the same before the Primary on Sep 8th and the General on Nov 3rd.
