Hello Nashua,
Bit of a rollercoaster around here weather-wise lately, isn’t it? You’re either glad to get one more chance (maybe) at late summer temperatures, or you’re annoyed because it’s October and it’s supposed to be fall now. Or maybe you’re ambivalent about it and want me to stop wasting time talking about the weather, and that’s fine too. Geez, well here’s what’s happening Downtown.
There are only three Sundays left for the Nashua Farmers Market for this season. Where does the time go? Beats me, but we hope you’ll join us before the season ends. We’re at Renaissance Park from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Meet fantastic local vendors and enjoy some live music while you’re at it. This week, we have Dead Harrison and Skoldberg Music playing at the Pavilion. Can you dig it? Good. Join us!
We’re really looking forward to The Main Street Monster Mash and Howl-o-Ween on October 24th. It’s our second year running this event and it’s a fun one. We love seeing kids trick-or-treating among the participating businesses and, don’t forget, we’re partnering with the Humane Society for Greater Nashua who will be hosting the pet costume parade and contest. Not enough? Well, you can also vote for your favorite scarecrows which will be hanging up on the lampposts along Main Street. They’ve been decorated by various businesses and nonprofits and the effort they put into these scarecrows blows me away every year..
While the Winter Stroll is a ways away yet, we are hard at work with preparations and are continuing to seek vendors, sponsors, and performers. This is our largest event by far and is attended by 25,000-30,000 people each year. It takes a lot to make it happen and we’re a small team. If you can sponsor, perform, volunteer, or participate as a vendor, please head to our website where we post the applications for these opportunities. We are genuinely grateful for the support we receive from this wonderful community.
Ok, that’s enough from me for now. Take a look below for other fun things going on Downtown this week.
Have a great weekend and I’ll see ya Downtown!
