CONCORD, NH - Earlier today, Secretary of State David Scanlan and Civic and Voter Education Coordinator Lily Woo visited Nottingham Elementary School to launch a new civic education project titled “Ed and Cate Go to the Polls”.
Produced in partnership with KartoonEDU, this video leads viewers through a typical New Hampshire polling location on election day through animated characters Ed, a potato, and Cate, a red-tailed hawk. The viewer – you – is the missing piece in the equation, creating the word “Ed-U-Cate”.
In the video, Ed and Cate educate voters on each step of the voting process on election day, highlighting the many checks and balances in place that ensure our elections are safe, secure and accessible.
Secretary Scanlan and Ms. Woo chose Nottingham Elementary School to launch the project because it is home to 6th grader Sierra Winslow, one of the winners of the 2025 “I Voted” Sticker Contest.
