Wednesday was opening day for the 2026 season of the Nashua Silver Knights at historic Holman Stadium. It was the first of two “Education Days” being held at the ballpark. About 2,200 students from 13 local area schools attended the first of two scheduled Education Days.
Nashua relies heavily on partnerships between government agencies and local agencies to meet challenges such as hunger, housing, youth enrichment and arts education.

Benson’s was the destination for family fun (and many a school field trip) through several owners and name changes until it closed in the late 1980s.In 2001, a local group in Hudson formed a committee to restore the 166 acres to what is now Benson Park.
“I was just very excited to see people using this new space. We tried to do some fun stuff that we don't normally do. The drone show, that was exciting.” Hannum said, “I really love just seeing people use the river and use the parks and the boardwalks.”
This week there are several public meetings scheduled by the city. They are primarily focusing on city infrastructure, capital planning and local operations.
Public events and performances continue through Memorial Day weekend. Highlights include a drone show Saturday night, the opening of the Downtown Nashua Association Farmers Market on Sunday — which will feature a petting zoo — and the traditional Memorial Day Parade on Monday morning.

On Wednesday night a special Board of Alderman met to interview candidates and appoint a new alderman for Ward 1.The appointment was due to a vacancy created by the resignation of Stephen Chess in April due to family demands. The appointment will serve through December 2027.
