NASHUA, N.H. -- City Academy will return to Nashua in 2026, bringing people, ideas, and information together through a series of Monday night gatherings. The program will be held on most Mondays between September 28 and December 7, creating a recurring forum for learning, conversation, and civic engagement.
The 2026 program will give participants a chance to explore meaningful topics, connect with other community members, and interact with leaders, staff, and departments shaping Nashua’s future. Participating offices include the Division of Public Works, the Office of Emergency Management, Fire Rescue, and many more. Applicants must be at least 16 years old, a Nashua resident, and able to commit to attending at least six of the eight classes.
“City Academy is about creating meaningful discussions and new connections,” Mayor Jim Donchess said. “The 2026 program will continue that tradition of empowering residents to engage with their city government, pass on what they learn, and inspire others to get more involved.”
Organizers expect to select approximately 20 applicants. “My only regret every year is that we can’t accommodate a larger group,” said Emily Vassar-Rivas, one of the organizers with the Mayor’s Office, noting that only a few class locations are large enough to seat more than twenty or so individuals, but that they also maintain a “wait list” in case any vacancies arise early on in the program.
