MANCHESTER, N.H. – A Salem man was seriously injured in a crash on Interstate 293.
At 4:54 p.m. on Saturday, July 11, 2026, State Troopers assigned to the Troop B barracks responded to a reported rollover crash on I-293 southbound in the area of Exit 2 in Manchester.
The preliminary investigation determined that the driver of a 2006 Volvo XC-90, identified as Michael Meucci, 44, of Salem, may have been distracted by an unrestrained dog within his vehicle. Meucci then lost control of the SUV while exiting the F. E. Everett Turnpike off-ramp onto I-293 southbound. The Volvo rolled over multiple times.
Meucci was not wearing a seatbelt and was thrown from the vehicle through the sunroof. He suffered serious injuries and was transported to an area hospital for treatment.
Traffic on I-293 was reduced to one lane for approximately 45 minutes while the scene was cleaned up.
Troopers were assisted by members of the Bedford and Manchester fire departments and the New Hampshire Department of Transportation.
